Brooke is a beautiful 14 lb, 4 yr old Blenheim girl who was released from an Amish breeding farm in March. She has a condition called "fly biting" and has had evaluation and care to try and find an effective treatment. After trying several drugs we have found one that is helping. The behavior of trying to catch a fly that isn't there comes and goes and currently it is much reduced. However this may not completely go away. Brooke was spayed and had her teeth cleaned and 4 teeth removed. The vet noted that she had recently had a litter. She received her vaccinations, heartworm test (neg), and was treated for tapeworm and currently her fecal is normal. She does not have a heart murmur and has no mobility problems. She was microchipped. She gets along with other dogs and cats and is shy with people but has improved and now enjoys being held and petted. She feels safe in a crate but also likes to be in laps. She has a good time outside running and exploring. She is making good progress on house training. Everyone who meets Brooke just adores her! 

Being in a loving and caring environment in her foster home has helped Brooke tremendously. She now has a much better life and treatment for her disorder. She will make a wonderful family pet and needs older mature children and owners who are understanding and willing to continue to care for and accept her special needs. Brooke needs a home with a fenced yard (a physical fence) so she can get the exercise and freedom that she needs.
