Penny is a gentle, lovely 9 year-old female who spent her entire life breeding.  She came to Lucky Star in poor condition with large bladder stones, bad teeth and a benign mammary mass.  People who saw her when she was first rescued cannot believe how well she is doing.  She is a new dog!  A little medical care went a long way with Penny.  She is a beautiful girl and a delight to be around!

Penny gets along great with large and small dogs.  Penny loves to run and explore her fenced yard, after spending her life in confinement.  We’d love her to have a fenced yard.  She walks well on a leash and has had very few accidents with her housebreaking, as long as she knows the rules.  She likes to be close to her foster mom and will follow her room to room, they lay down quietly nearby.   

Penny receives glucosamine supplements for joint care, because of her age but has no health issues that need medication at this time.  She’s in good shape for a girl who came to Lucky Star in bad condition.  Penny is still a little hand shy but wants to be close.  Older, respectful children or none at all and a quieter home would be her preference. Because she has spent her life with other dogs, another dog in the home is her preference.
