Daisy May was one of five dogs surrendered to a shelter by a backyard breeder who kept her dogs in an unheated trailer. Daisy May had a mass in the back of her throat that the shelter did not have the medical resources to investigate. During her spay and dental, we took a biopsy of the mass in her throat. The mass is composed of chronically inflamed and fibrotic cartilage tissue with no evidence of cancer. That's great news! The sources of that inflammation could possibly have been her rotten stinky teeth or the flea infestation that she arrived with. She's all cleaned up now and over time, the inflammation will subside.
Daisy May is a 7-8 year old female, bred many times. Don't let her age discourage you. She's a happy girl who follows her foster mom everywhere. She's just a little thing, 12 lbs at most but she is an angel. She has excellent house manners and has been a joy to have around. There was no evidence of a heart murmur when she was examined and, by the way she jumps into a lap, her knees are in good shape too. She loves people, walks well on a leash and gets along great with a houseful of other Cavaliers. She's not crazy about the big dog in her foster home but she probably hasn't had much chance to be around one before. She loves everyone and is very sociable.
Daisy May would love a home where there is someone at home much of the time. She would not be happy left alone all day. She has insisted on sleeping on the big bed since she arrived and has been a perfect house guest. She is being fostered in MA. Please complete an application first, then contact firstname.lastname@example.org of your interest, stating your location.
