The Rainbow Bridge

This page is dedicated to all the prescious angels who have gone before us.  Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

Coco (LS Sadie)
We lost Coco Chanel (formerly Sadie) to heart failure on July 1st at the age of 12.  For the last two years she had her share of health problems, but none of them slowed her down.  She still jumped at the door at 5pm for cocktail hour with her best friend who lived next door, still went for strolls around her yard, and she would still pretend to be asleep until we would leave the room and she could get up and hunt for food she shouldn’t eat.  She had a huge love for cheese, but when she couldn’t eat it anymore due to an issue with her pancreas, she was still just as happy with popcorn for special occasions, and an egg over easy most mornings along with her dog food.  By 9:30pm she demanded to go to the big bed and settle in for the night.  She was always happy, and even as her heart worsened, her tail wagged and her butt wiggled.  We are heartbroken and miss her terribly, as the house is extremely quiet without her loud snoring.  To us, she was one in a million.

Ollie

~~
Ollie RN THD CGC (12/11/2001 - 7/19/2017)

At 15 1/2 years old, we said goodbye to our amazing cavalier Ollie. Surrounded by his entire family at home, he crossed the rainbow bridge to find Remington, Dudley and Buckley waiting to show him the ropes. (I am sure his cat friends Honey and Bingley will be there too, but they will probably ignore him for a while!)
Ollie Man was the best.dog.ever and I will miss him terribly. We had an amazing (almost) 9 years together....

From foster Mom Pat Wellmeier: Ollie was my very first Lucky Star foster dog. He opened my heart to this wonderful work of rescue. He found the perfect home and I was privileged to stay in touch with his family over the past 9 years.

Scarlet
"This is my beautiful Scarlett (O'Hara).  I adopted her when she was around 10, deaf, heart issues and a luxating patella..  Unfortunately, Scarlett developed a tumor on her heart.  My heart breaks, I miss her snoring, especially at night, as she always slept on my pillow.  Run free, Scarlett, where you can breathe with no problems and run on healthy little legs.  I'll miss you forever and look forward to seeing you on the other side".

Henry
Henry came to Lucky Star at the age of 10. We only were blessed with Henry in our lives for about 5 years. On Jan 21,2017, his loving heart gave out. Henry was a sweet boy. He loved everyone he met and always had a kiss to give. We were blessed to have you in our lives and miss you so much.

Tony
We adopted our Tony from Lucky Star on Dec. 26, 2005 when he was only 3 mos old. Unexpectedly, a week ago, on Jan 10, 2017, he went to join other beloved pets at The Rainbow Bridge. Our hearts are broken & the pain of losing him won't stop. Tony was born on Sept 26, 2005 and lived a wonderful & blessed life with us for 11 yrs 3 1/2 mos. His companion, Niki, will be 11 yrs in Feb and along with us, she misses him tremendously. Tony was very intelligent, so gentle, so loving - he never met a stranger2 legged or 4 legged. He has brought us nothing but extreme joy and more love than we could have ever imagined. We know that animals have a Soul, the Word of God tells us they do, so we take great comfort in knowing that we will see & be with him again - then together we will cross that Rainbow Bridge.
